Mumbai: After almost three years, the Mumbai Indians defeated the Chennai Super Kings by nine wickets, ending their dismal run. MI last defeated CSK on May 12, 2022, by a margin of five wickets.
Since then, the two teams have played each other four times, with CSK winning each time.
Early in the innings, MI lost the wicket of Ryan Rickelton (24) while chasing a target of 177 runs. But Suryakumar Yadav (unbeaten 68) and Rohit sharma(unbeaten76). Mumbai Indians Defeat Chennai Super Kings(unbeaten 76) joined forces to form a strong 114-run partnership for the second wicket. While Suryakumar seized the lead from the other end, Rohit initially played some aggressive strokes during the powerplay before changing tactics to play a more cautious role. Mumbai defeated MS Dhoni and his squad by a commanding nine wickets thanks to their combination.
